Behind the scenes

We are proud to present Britah and Josephine: the highly skilled, deaf craftswomen from our Ugandan partner organization the New Hope.

If you were wondering who were behind our beautiful crafts, we are proud to present Britah and Josephine: the highly skilled, deaf craftswomen from our Ugandan partner organization the New Hope. They have been with the organization since 2014, dedicating their time and talent to supporting the New Hope and Talking Hands through their craftsmanship.

Their beautiful pieces are not only a testament to their exceptional skills but also serve as a source of funding for the projects of Talking Hands and the New Hope and support the education of deaf students.

Josephine and Britah create a wide range of crafts including bags, skirts, hair ties and wallets. With their passion for both crafts and giving back, Britah and Josephine are an inspiring part of the New Hope community.

Selling crafts is a major income source that enables Talking Hands and the new Hope to fund the education of deaf students in Uganda.

The crafts are made in Uganda and then taken to the Netherlands and Germany by airplane. The crafts are sold by volunteers and Talking Hands board members at markets. After reading this, you may have become very interested in our products, so please click here to start your shopping!
