Become an Ambassador!
As an ambassador for Talking Hands, you are the enthusiastic face representing our mission, inspiring others, and expanding our network to support deaf and hard-of-hearing people in Uganda.
What will you do?
As an ambassador, you will work to recruit donors and raise awareness about the barriers faced by deaf and hard-of-hearing people in Uganda, as well as the importance of sign language and equal opportunities. Your main focus will be promoting our sponsorship program to help ensure sustainable support for our projects.
Desired qualities
Enthusiastic about inspiring others and sharing the story of the Talking Hands Foundation
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Fluent in Dutch, preferably also in English
Experience in fundraising or relationship management is a plus
Time commitment
The time investment is flexible and depends on your availability, averaging 2 to 4 hours per week. During campaigns and special events, this may be slightly more.
Become a member of the acquisition committee!
As a member of the acquisition committee, you help strengthen our mission by securing new funding and partnerships that enable Talking Hands to grow further.
What will you do?
Together with the board members responsible for acquisitions and other committee members, you will actively seek out funding opportunities and build a valuable network. You will assist in writing project proposals and support pitching them to potential funders.

Time commitment
The time investment is flexible and depends on ongoing projects and fundraising activities. On average, you can expect to spend 2 to 4 hours per week, with potentially more during key deadlines.
Become a marketcoordinator!
As a market coordinator at Talking Hands, you lead an enthusiastic team of volunteers and promote beautiful Ugandan crafts.
To fund our projects, we sell unique, handmade crafts created by deaf women in Uganda. These talented artisans produce beautiful bags, skirts, baskets, wallets, waist bags, stuffed animals, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets—crafted from local, natural materials and colorful African fabrics.
Each product tells their creative and cultural story and contributes to raising funds for our educational programs. In this way, we create employment opportunities for deaf women while supporting the development of deaf and hard-of-hearing youth.
What will you do?
Coordinate sales at markets in Wageningen and surrounding areas
Lead, inform, and support volunteers
Arrange market participation and promote it via social media
Keep track of income, stock, and materials
Contribute ideas for new opportunities and strategies

Passionate about contributing to a good cause and enjoy working with and coordinating volunteers
Motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking responsibility
Good at planning and organizing, and able to handle practical tasks independently
Social and able to inspire and motivate others
Time commitment
On average, 4 hours per week. During market season (spring, summer, and around Christmas), this may increase compared to the quieter winter period.

Help out at lively markets in Wageningen and the surrounding area—and support deaf and hard-of-hearing people in Uganda.
What will you do?
As a market volunteer, you will help sell these special handmade crafts at various markets in Wageningen and the surrounding area. You’ll work as part of a friendly and dedicated team that is passionately committed to this meaningful cause.

Your involvement can range from a few days per year to 1 or 2 days per month during the market season in summer and around Christmas.
Become the webshop coordinator!
As a webshop coordinator, you ensure that our colorful, handmade products find their way to customers in the Netherlands—and help create more opportunities for deaf and hard-of-hearing people in Uganda.
What will you do?
As webshop coordinator, you will:
Further develop our webshop and learn to work with WordPress & WooCommerce
Manage webshop inventory and process orders
Coordinate product photos and write engaging product descriptions
Contribute to webshop promotion (together with communications and fundraising colleagues)
Track best-selling products and suggest which items need restocking

On average, 2 to 4 hours per week, with additional time required during busy periods such as the holiday season.
